Medeski, Martin and Wood have announced that Camp MMW will not be happening in 2014. There was no Camp MMW scheduled for 2013, but next year’s addition was supposed to take place August 4-8 at the Full Moon Resort in the Catskills of upstate New York. The event has been cancelled due to the busy schedules of the band’s members.

Medeski, Martin and Wood released the following statement about the cancellation on their Facebook page today:

Hello everyone, we have to apologize for announcing Camp 2014 prematurely. We think the past 5 years of Camp have been excellent – super fun, educational, and enriching experiences for everyone involved – but we’ve been collecting ideas to improve the program even further. Because of MMW’s busy schedules, both together and solo, we haven’t had time to fully address our new ideas and figure out how to implement them. Camp will benefit greatly from an extended hiatus, and that’s what we’ve decided to do. Camp will not happen in 2014 as previously scheduled.
