Widespread Panic covered Tom Waits’ “Clap Hands” for the first time last night at the Botanical Gardens in Boise, ID. The band was joined by Bloodkin’s Eric Carter and Danny Hutchens for the tune, which appears on Waits’ 1985 bum Rain Dogs. Carter and Hutchens then stuck around for the following tune, “Quarter Tank of Gasoline.”
Last night marked Bloodkin’s last appearance as Widespread Panic’s opening act on their current tour. Members of the band have sat in with WSP at a number of recent shows. The Dirty Dozen Brass Band will provide support at tomorrow night’s show in Las Vegas.
