Henry Winkler Plays a Giant Cowbell with MGMT

Via MGMT’s Tumblr

Henry Winkler sat in with MGMT last night during their headlining gig at the FYF Fest in Los Angeles. The Happy Days actor took the stage for “Your Life Is A Lie,” banging on the comically large cowbell that frontman Andrew Van Wyngarden famously (infamously) played during the band’s recent performance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Last night’s show was not the band’s first time collaborating with Winkler, who appears in the new music video for the same song that he sat in on last night.

A feature on MGMT, who are gearing up to release their self-titled third album, appears in the July/August 2013 issue of Relix

I don’t know the song, and I know little by MGMT, but dare I say it? Coolest sit-in ever. Correctamundo.

“Coolest sit-in ever. Correctamundo.” Ha, the coolest sit in would have the Fonz AND Leather Tuscadero

No… the coolest would have had the Fonz banging on a jukebox instead of a cowbell… and Potsie would have opened the show with Malf, Ritchie and Sticks as his backing band… Unfortunately, Sticks is no longer with us, so maybe Chachi Arcola could sit in…
