Dave Davies Says Kinks Reunion Tour Has a ’50/50’ Chance

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Kinks guitarist Dave Davies says the chances of a Kinks reunion tour is about 50/50. The biggest obstacle, according to Davies, standing in the way of a reunion is his relationship with his brother, Kinks frontman Ray Davies. Dave says he is up for it, but that the “ball is very much in Ray’s court.”

Dave closes the interview on a more ominous note for Kinks fans, stating: “That said, I really do want to do something with Ray before we both decay and decompose. I said to Ray last week, ‘We don’t have much time left.’ But he didn’t . . . Ray, what an asshole he is.”

Dave also doesn’t get along with Mick Avory. I’d love to hear them all play together, though.

I’m a lifelong Kinks fan, first saw them at the Santa Monica civic feb 1977, I’ve been lucky enough to have see them about 30 times, and 6-7 solo Ray Davies shows. I saw Dave Davies in a little hole it the wall called Big Ed’s in Reno Nv in 2000. Simply one of the greatest bands ever. Dig deep into their catalogue, so many great songs and albums…. I saw the Kinks at the House of Blues in Hollywood in 1995, one of their last runs, and Dave and Ray were kind of fighting onstage, just who they are… do yourself a favor and just check out the Kinks on Youtube, some great moments! Cheers…

Given that last sentence I would say the odds are a little less than 50/50
