Gov’t Mule surprised fans recently by announcing they would be joined by The Doors guitarist Robby Krieger for their Halloween shows at The Fonda in Los Angeles on October 30 and Oakland’s Fox Theatre. Last night, the duo picked up where they left off in L.A., performing an entire set of The Doors music.

While Mule’s set on Halloween didn’t stray too far from the blueprint set on October 30, fans were still thrilled to hear Krieger lend his guitar to some of The Doors’ classic material like “Light My Fire” and “L.A. Woman.”

Warren Haynes and company also got help from Mark Karan, best known for his work with Bob Weir and RatDog, during the first of two encores that included a cover of The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blues.” The band returned to the stage a second time to close the show with “When The Music’s Over.”

Gov’t Mule’s tour continues with a show tonight in Las Vegas, NV.
