Drive-By Truckers have announced that they will put out their twelfth release, English Oceans, on March 4 via ATO Records. Produced by David Barbe, the album was recorded over 13 days at Chase Park Transduction Studios in Athens, GA.

According to the band, the album was recorded with a compact, retooled lineup that will see keyboardist Jay Gonzalez adding guitar to his duties, while bassist Matt Patton was drafted into the group from Tuscaloosa band The Dexateens.

“It’s a very tasteful group, and when it needs to be it can be a very big, powerful, over-the-top band, too, and it can go from one to the other seamlessly,” says DBT co-founder Patterson Hood.

A U.S. tour will be announced in January and European fans can look forward to the band’s return in May. The Drive-By Truckers also plan to perform their annual homecoming shows at the 40 Watt in Athens this February.
