Pearl Jam got some help late in their show last night at Vancouver’s Rogers Arena from opening band Mudhoney when Mark Arm and Steve Turner joined Pearl Jam for the penultimate tune of the evening, “Kick Out the Jams.” Mudhoney and Pearl Jam have a long history together, swapping collaborations over the years. The most recent sit in, aside from last night, came during 2012’s Missoula, MT show when various members of Mudhoney sat in on “Kick Out the Jams.” The group also joined Pearl Jam during their famed Alpine Valley run as a part of their 20th anniversary celebration.

Other highlights from the show included the show opening “Oceans,” which used to be a popular opener during the Ten tour but now remains a semi-rarity. “Can’t Keep,” “Breakerfall” and “God’s Dice” served as bustouts early on in the set, while classics such as “Even Flow,” “Daughter” and “Jeremy” all made appearances in the set. The show was lighter on Lightning Bolt material, with just five out of the 35 songs coming from the band’s latest record.

Drawing from their recent sit in with Sleater Kinney, Pearl Jam incorporated the band’s “Modern Girl” into the end of “Not For You.” The encore also featured another cover of Pink Floyd’s “Mother,” as well as the Pearl Jam staples “Given To Fly” and “Better Man.” Along with the Mudhoney sit in, the second encore also included such heavy hitters as “Go,” “Black,” “Alive” and “Yellow Ledbetter.”

Pearl Jam will wrap up their North American Lightning Bolt tour on Friday with a hometown show at Seattle’s Key Arena.
