Kronos Quartet will celebrate their 40th anniversary at Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium on Friday, March 28. The one-night-only concert will feature the world premiere of Terry Riley’s “The Serquent Risadrome”, as well as the New York premiere of “Orion: China” by the great Philip Glass.

The National’s Bryce Dessner will join Kronos Quartet on guitar for “Aheym,” the title track for Dessner and the quartet’s 2013 collaborative release. Wu Man will also make an appearance during Philip Glass’ “Orion: China,” while indie-rock composer Jherek Bischoff will join in on electric bass for “A Semiperfect Number.” In addition, the night will include appearances by tehe Brooklyn Youth Chorus and musicians from youth ensemble Face The Music.
