The producers of Midnight Rider: The Gregg Allman Story are looking for extras for the film, which will be based on Allman’s autobiography, My Cross to Bear. Belle Casting has put out a casting call for peoples of “all types & ages.” Pre-1970’s vehicles are also needed for the production.

The casting call will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 10am-4pm and Sunday, February 16 from 12pm-4pm at Meddin Studios in Savannah, GA. More information on the casting call can be found here.

As previously reported, actor William Hurt has already signed on to play an older Gregg Allman in the upcoming biopic, while All-American Rejects frontman Tyson Ritter will play a younger version of the musician. In addition, Wyatt Russell will portray his brother, the late Duane Allman. The film, which begins shooting soon, will be directed by Randall Miller.

I’m glad they picked Georgia over, say, Los Angeles.

the casting is fucking horrible! Willaim hurt maybe but the younger gregg that dude doesn’t even resemble etc. They should have gotten the guy from the brew he looks just like a young gregg allman and would have been a waaayy better choice! He also plays keyboard and guitar and he needs a gig i’m sure LOL!

Tyson is going to be great. I can’t wait to see him blonde. And he will be doing all the playing and singing in the movie.

Do you think the movie will include greg allman’s relationship with the 15yr old who was so damaged afterwards, she first went into porn before killing herself?

This film will be a BLOCKBUSTER thrilling not only fans but America’s mainstream audience. Can’t wait.
