Aquarium Rescue Unit to Play Shows This August

Photo: Dino Perrucci

Col Bruce Hampton and the Aquarium Rescue Unit will hit the road for a series of shows this August. There’s no word yet on when and where the band will play, but an official announcement is expected some time in the near future.

Hampton recently reunited with ARU bandmates Jimmy Herring and Jeff Sipe when he and Sipe took the stage with Widespread Panic at their Panic en la Playa destination event in the Dominican Republic on March 19. The full band, including bassist Oteil Burbridge, last performed at the 2013 Warren Haynes Christmas Jam in Asheville, NC.

Please please please come north, Colonel. If there is one old jamband out there on my bucket list, it’s the Unit. I don’t care if it’s NYC, Boston, or Tuktiuktuk, I will come.

I will be there. WE Want Count Mbutu !!! Oteil , Count , and Apt. Q258 are THE Groove Engine !!! The most supreme of all rhythm sections known to jamband fans. Just an opinion of course. My stained soul cringes.
