Prince to Reissue Purple Rain For 30th Anniversary

Prince and Warner Bros. Records confirmed a new partnership today “that will see the release of long-awaited, previously unheard material” including a 30th anniversary reissue of Prince’s iconic Purple Rain, first released in 1984.

For the first time, Prince will be releasing a digitally remastered, deluxe version of the album. Other planned projects will follow, per the press release. On the new deal, Prince said, “A brand-new studio album is on the way and both Warner Bros Records and Eye are quite pleased with the results of the negotiations and look forward to a fruitful working relationship.”

As far as new music is concerned, Prince is planning the release of his latest effort PLECTRUMELECTRUM due out in 2014 with his band 3RDEYEGIRL. Listen to his latest single “FALLINLOVE2NITE” with Zooey Deschanel above.

Prince SUCKS ! He’s a little midget who writes mediocre songs and plays crappy guitar.

Jeff that’s kinda ignorant. Go find his solo from Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame induction for George Harrison on While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Plus there is a 3 disc live set of his featuring some great guitar work and songs.

@Jeff you’ve got to be kidding. Prince in a virtuoso, mulit-instrument and true all around entertainer. Your commentary on his height has nothing to do with his talent, and only furthers the unveiling of your ignorance.

Prince is a great musician. Way better than that hack Trey. Writes better songs than Trey as well but so does a meth addict at 3 in the morning.

yeah lol@jeff I detest r&b and Prince played for 4 freaking hours at Oakland Sheila E popped out of the stage Graham Central Station was there…the man can write and the man can play and he was definately worth the $60 the show was amazing…unlike the $200 tickets for the latest kiss or eagles retirement/re-union tour

Jeff, you aren’t worth the response.. your comment is simply stupid…. Prince is beyond a phenomenon. This man is one of the absolute best musicians alive. Anyone with a true love of any type of music knows this. I’m anxious for this new release. Surely, there will be more.
