Marianne Faithfull Taps Roger Waters, Nick Cave, Steve Earle for New Album

Marianne Faithfull enlisted Roger Waters, Nick Cave, Steve Earle, Anna Calvi, Pat Leonard and Tom McRae to help with her forthcoming album. The singer penned the lyrics for the tracks on the new LP, while the others all wrote music.

The album, Give My Love to London, finds Faithfull backed a band that includes the record’s producers, Rob Ellis and Dimitri Tikovi, as well as Ed Harcourt and Portishead’s Adrian Utley. Warren Ellics and Jim Sclavunos of Cave’s backing band The Bad Seeds also make guest appearances on the album.

Give My Love to London is currently slated to be released in September.

Roger Waters has stated “You can attack Israeli policy without being anti Jewish”. He is critical of Israel occupying Palestinian land an opinion which does not make him anti-Semitic or an “Old Racist”. His father was killed during World War Two fighting The Nazis. The props he uses in his stage show are just props designed for entertainment not political purposes.
