Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings will return to Australia in September for a brief run on their Give the People What They Want Tour. Joining the band on the two-week tour will be The Bombay Royale and Saun & Starr. The band will hit the major markets in Australia including Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne.
In other news, Jambase.com reports that Jones sat in with Yo Mama’s Big Fat Booty Band at Sky City in Augusta, GA this past Friday. Jones joined the funk upstarts for a take on Allen Toussaint’s “Everything I Do Gohn Be Funky.”
Tickets are on sale July 4 and can be purchased for all shows via Sharon Jones’ website.
