After a bus accident left drummer Nathan Followill with several broken ribs, Kings of Leon announced the cancellation of a host of dates for the next two weeks per doctor’s orders. The band will not perform tomorrow night at Jones Beach and will also cancel eight other shows in the process. Kings is slated to return to the stage August 28 at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ.

As for the band’s scheduled appearance on The Tonight Show this evening, Roots drummer Questlove will sit-in for Followill as the band hits the late night stage to perform “Family Tree” from the group’s latest Mechanical Bull.

On his Twitter, Followill joked that he saw a tweet he had passed away, attaching a picture with an additional message that read “thank you for all the get well soons. I’m a little banged up but will be back better than ever.”
