Arcade Fire’s Win and Will Butler will hold their third annual Pop vs. Jock charity basketball game on September 20 in Montreal and have recruited Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon, Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes and NBA player Matt Bonner, who will serve as the coach. All proceeds from the game benefit DJ Sports Club, a non-profit charity that offers programs in sports education for children.

Additional personnel include former NBAer Brent Barry (who, like Bonner, also played for the San Antonio Spurs) along with members of the local McGill and Concordia University teams.

The event also boasts a halftime show which promises very special guests. Past guests include David Byrne (who recently jammed with Arcade Fire in Brooklyn) playing with Win and Will Butler along with AF’s Regine Chassagne.
