Foo Fighters will play a crowdfunded concert in Richmond, VA on September 17 at The National, the band confirmed on their Twitter. As previously reported, over 1,400 fans of the band purchased tickets on the off chance the band would agree to play Richmond. Those who pledged will receive ticketing information in their emails. Dave Grohl, who is a native of Springfield, Virginia, and his band have not played in Richmond in 16 years.

As previously reported, Foo Fighters are gearing up for the release of their new album Sonic Highways on November 10. The band visited six different studios around the country to record the album, also inviting several special guests during the process.
