Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey will release Worker, their latest effort on October 14 via Royal Potato Family. Their track, “Better Living Through Competitive Spirituality” is now streaming over on Relix.com.

JFJO’s Chris Combs, who wrote the song, said “This song was born through manipulating solo piano tracks taken from Brian Haas’ 2009 release Petting Sounds. I pulled the tracks into my computer, turned them into something new, and wrote the rest of the song around that. We then taught ourselves how to play the song as a trio and tracked it live on the album. It was fun to watch it come together as it moved conceptually from human hands into the computer, then back into the live-band setting.”

The badn will support the album with a national tour that will make a stop tonight in Baton Rouge, LA with special guest George Porter Jr..
