My Morning Jacket are planning to release two albums in the next two years, according to an article in the new issue of Rolling Stone. The piece notes that MMJ are currently mixing an album that is scheduled for release this coming April, though they also plan to release another in 2016. Frontman Jim James told the magazine, “I just had tons of songs this time…We didn’t even get to all of them.”

Rolling Stone reports that the two albums will be sequenced from 24 tracks that the band recorded last year at a studio in the Bay Area. The article also revealed that James hopes to release the follow up to his 2013 debut solo album Regions of Light and Sound of God in 2016.

My Morning Jacket’s last studio album, Circuital, was released in 2011. The group will perform next at their One Big Holiday event in January.
