Former Cake and Norah Jones drummer Pete McNeal has been sentenced to 15 years to life in a California state prison for molesting a 3-year-old girl in 2009. McNeal, 48, must also register as a sex offender for life, according to the Los Angeles Times.

A jury found McNeal guilty in March 2013 on one count of oral copulation of a child 10-years-old or younger. McNeal has previously been charged with a misdemeanor and sentenced to three years probation following a separate incident in which he was found to have attempted molestation of a six-year-old while volunteering at a Los Angeles school.

McNeal replaced founding Cake drummer Todd Roper in 2001 and played with the band until 2004. He also contributed as an extra musician on their 2011 album Showroom of Compassion and has also collaborated with the likes of Brett Dennen, Mike Doughty and more.
