Last night at Terrapin Crossroads, Phil Lesh continued his own celebration of the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary with a show honoring the band’s 1970 year. The ensemble, which featured Scott Law, Stu Allen, Ross James, Jason Crosby, Alex Koford and Cody Dickinson, began the show with a brief acoustic set featuring takes on “The Monkey and the Engineer,” “Friend of the Devil” and “Black Peter.”

For the electric portion of the show, the band recreated segments of the Grateful Dead’s May 24, 1970 show in Newcastle, UK with the encore featuring a three-song encore featuring 1970 American Beauty‘s “Candyman” as well as “Walkin’ the Dog,” a rarity played sporadically in 1970. “Cocaine Blues,” another song in the band’s repertoire at the time, closed the show.

Lesh has also confirmed the date for the 1971 performance, which will take place on March 1 at Terrapin Crossroads. Lesh will be joined by Stu Allen, Scott Metzger, Jason Crosby and Jay Lane. Tickets are available here.

Here’s a look at the setlist as it appears in our Box Scores section:
