Toubab Krewe have revealed that two new albums are on the horizon. The band, who have been on a touring hiatus since late 2014, recorded a studio album this past October that they hope to release this fall. The band is also in the process of mixing a live album from their May 2011-May 2014 shows at the Blue Nile in New Orleans. Additionally, Toubab Krewe have announced that they will be celebrating their 10th anniversary with an original lineup show at The Manifestivus in Vermont this July.

The news came today via a post on Toubab Krewe’s Facebook page, which also includes a detailed update on the band members’ current whereabouts and info on a few of their upcoming shows. The full statement reads:

Well…this is different !!! For the first time in nearly a decade we are not on tour …after almost 2000 shows in 48 states and 6 countries, we have taken our first hiatus from touring. What a long strange trip it has been …thank you to each and every one of you for the support and love that has been the wind at our backs. I think this is the perfect time for an update for all of you who have supported us along the way. There is so much news to report …just before taking our break from the road we recorded a new studio album in October and are preparing it for an early Fall release…we are mixing a live album from shows at the Blue Nile in New Orleans between May 2011-May 2014…the ten year anniversary of our first tour is next month and we will be playing select shows to celebrate including the The Manifestivus and a show in Asheville with the original lineup of founding members (OGTK)…original drummer Teal Brown is a proud father of a beautiful boy and has started a Tiny Homes company in Asheville, NC…original bassist David Pransky is living in Miami performing regularly with Locos por Juana amongst other groups…Justin Perkins is also living in Miami and performing with numerous groups, Luke Quaranta has moved to New Orleans and is playing with Benyoro, Raja Kassis, and started a new collective called Pirates Choice…Drew Heller and his wife Naima are proud parents of a beautiful baby girl born in November and have recently moved to Asheville…Terrence Houston is crushing with The Funky Meters, George Porter Jr’s Runnin’ Pardners’, and Khris Royal & Dark Matter…Justin Kimmel is spending his time off the road in his home studio in Brooklyn and performing with numerous artists…we have seen our brothers Weedie Braimah, Sam Dickey, Raja Kassis, and Adama Dembele become band leaders and release debut albums in the past year…we are thrilled to see the community of West African-inspired bands growing in the States…we are very excited see this movement evolve and we can’t wait to present a full day program at Purple Hatters Ball highlighting this style of music…once again we thank you all for the support you have shown us…it has been an amazing ten years, and we can’t wait to be back on the road playing new music and doing what we do best ! We love you all and will see you soon !!!
