Prince’s Hit and Run tour came to the U.S. last night with a pair of shows at Louisville’s Palace Theatre. According to The Courier-Journal, Prince took the stage by saying, “Kentucky, let me tell you how this is gonna go. Have you ever heard nine hits in a row? That’s the way it’s gonna go.” He then proceeded to play some of his most famous tunes including an opening “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Take Me With U,” “U Got the Look,” “Controversy,” “1999,” “Little Red Corvette” and more.

Prince and his band 3rdeyegirl returned for a second show later in the night (there will also be two more shows tonight at the same venue) with a fairly similar setlist that also featured a cover of Michael Jackson’s “Don’t Stop Til You Get Enough.”

The shows were a homecoming for 3rdeyegirl drummer Hanna Welton, a Louisville native. During the show, Prince grabbed a copy of Drum! magazine with Welton on the cover and brought it on stage.
