Umphrey’s McGee have confirmed that later today on their website they will be streaming their new album The Valerie Jarrett Jack London Sessions. The record, which officially drops on April 7, was recorded in three unique locales to reflect the band’s varied interests and passions:

• In the White House office of Assistant to the President for Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs Valerie Jarrett

• At the apartment of Brooklyn Nets point guard Jarrett “Why couldn’t I stay in Cleveland” Jack

• “In the Yukon or somewhere near the Yukon because we’re not really sure where the Yukon is and none of have read White Fang anyhow. Stasik started it because he saw someone post on PT that Jack London was actually the nom de plume of Stephenie Meyer and figured that White Fang was the latest installment in the Twilight series. But he gave up after 150 pages and no sign of his beloved Bella.”

When asked if the The Valerie Jarrett Jack London Sessions was in fact another clever manifestation of their penchant for mash-ups, the band responded, “Damn, we never thought of that.”
