It appears as if Dave Matthews Band spent some time in the studio between their shows in Mexico City and the kickoff of their lengthy summer tour that will see the group play their usual jaunt through North America along with a return to Europe.

Bassist Stefan Lessard shared the image above via his social media accounts or Jeff Coffin and Rashawn Ross recording some horn parts. Coffin himself has also been documenting the sessions, which appear to have taken place in Seattle. The saxophonist took a picture of his station with the caption, “Guess what we’ve been up to.” The band hasn’t released a studio album since 2012’s Away From the World which saw the band reunite with longtime producer Steve Lillywhite.

Matthews or any member of the band hasn’t spoken directly on the project, or if a release is imminent, however the frontman did say in November of 2013 that the band was planning on going into the studio with producer Rob Cavallo, who helmed 2009’s Big Whiskey and the GrooGrux King.

Dave Matthews Band will kick off their summer tour on May 13 in Austin, TX at the Austin360 Amphitheater.
