Longtime KLRU station executive and founder of Austin City Limits Bill Arhoshas passed away at the age of 80. According to a post on the ACL website, Arhos passed away on April 11.

Arhos joined KLRU in 1961 and served as Producer, Program Director and Vice President of Programming. In 1974, the pilot for Austin City Limits was shot with Willie Nelson and Arhos would serve as Executive Producer of the famed show until his retirement in 1999. He would also be the President/General Manager of the show beginning in 1986.

Arhos was inducted into the Austin City Limits Inaugural Hall of Fame last year, honored for his vision, passion and dedication. Arhos went into the Hall of Fame along with Austin staple Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan and former University of Texas football coach Darrell Royal.
