After Neil Young issued not one but two statements about Donald Trump’s usage of “Rockin’ in the Free World” without his consent, the rocker has allowed the song to be used by Bernie Sanders.

In a press release issued by Sanders, he mentioned that he got approval to use the song for an event for the Democratic Party Presidential candidate at Hamilton Gymnasium at the University of Denver.

The news shouldn’t come to the surprise of many, as Young previously stated that he is a longtime supporter of Sanders. As far as Trump’s usage of the song is concerned, he has ceased using the song out of respect for Young, despite claiming to have paid both the ASCAP and BMI for the song rights.
