Phil Lesh continued his own celebration of the Grateful Dead’s 50th anniversary with a show at Terrapin Crossroads that honored the band’s 1981 year. Lesh drew from a show played in the area, as he and a group of friends that included Stu Allen, Rob Eaton, Rob Barraco, Ezra Lipp and Alex Koford played from the Greek Theater show in Berkeley from 9/12/81.

Among the highlights were an opening “Shakedown Street” as well as first set takes on “Friend of the Devil,” “Bird Song,” “Tennessee Jed” and others. The second frame drew on tunes like “Scarlet” > “Fire” as well as “C.C. Rider,” “Eyes of the World,” “Not Fade Away” and more.

Next up for Lesh is a show on September 1 where he will play a show from the year as voted on by the fans.
