Dave Matthews Band played two California shows this past weekend and were joined by two jazz greats in the process.

On Friday at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA, Matthews was joined on the stage by saxophonist Charles Lloyd for three songs, “Lover Lay Down,” “Spaceman” and “Jimi Thing.”

The following night at Irvine Meadows Amphitheater in Irvine, CA, legendary keyboardist Herbie Hancock collaborated with DMB on “Spaceman,” “Captain” and “What Would You Say.” On the last of the tunes, Hancock played sitting at his keyboard for the fist part of the song before getting up, grabbing his keytar and rocking a solo at the front of the stage as the band accompanied behind.
