After much debate as to what the band would do on Halloween night, Umphrey’s McGee did dip into their mashup repertoire on their holiday show in Milwaukee as their three night run at the Riverside Theatre came to a close.

Also, as promised, the group put a Game of Thrones spin on the show, each coming out in a mashup costume based around the popular character Jon Snow. Brendan dressed as Jon Snotre Dame in his customized Irish football jersey while Jake was Jon Bon Snovi, Joel as Dr. Jon Snow, Andy Farag as Jon Snoates, Kris Myers as Jon Snowen Wilson and Stasik as Jon Snobi Wan Kanobi.

The group walked out to the GoT theme “A Song of Ice and Fire” before launching into the opening number, “1348.” The first set featured tunes like “Padgett’s Profile” (the first since 12/30/14) as well as a “Much Obliged” and “Glory” pairing that led into the rarely played “Go to Hell.”

During the second set, the first “Resolution” jam centered around John Carpenter’s Halloween theme before leading into “The Triple Wide,” which brought the group to the first of two mashups on the evening. Dubbed “I Can’t Rock My Dream Face,” the mashup featured Kris Myers and Brendan Bayliss sharing lead vocals on The Weeknd’s “Can’t Feel My Face” while Jake Cinninger mixed in elements of Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” as well as Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You” also sung by Bayliss.

Following “Remind Me,” Bayliss asked the crowd if they were ready for “some serious skull fucking shit” before launching into two of the band’s more aggressive tunes, rock “Nopener” and “Sludge and Death.” To close the set, the group played “Nopener” again, this time with Kris Myers fronting the band (Jake Cinninger moved to drums) on the lounge version of the tune. “Nopener” hasn’t been played in 134 shows, meanwhile “Sludge & Death” appeared for the first time in 114 shows.

For the encore, following the Raw Stewage cut “Den,” the band closed with yet another mashup, this time a mix of AC/DC’s “Back in Black” with Marvin Gaye’s “Sexual Healing” before the group exited the stage.
