On November 27, Neal Casal will release Inerludes for the Dead as a part of the extensive Fare Thee Well release. The music contained on the CD was prominently featured during setbreak on the Fare Thee Well webcasts and today, Casal has premiered “Gilbert’s Groove” via Rolling Stone.

Casal tells Rolling Stone that the tune is a “loving nod to ‘Shakedown Street,’” adding, “The working title for this song was ‘Fakedown Street,’ but we eventually opted for the classier ‘Gilbert’s Groove’ — a tip of the cap to Gilbert Shelton, the legendary artist who created the artwork for the Shakedown Street album cover.”

Interludes for the Dead will be available digitally and on CD and vinyl on November 27. The LP edition will be limited to 5,000 copies. On November 20, the 12-CD/7-Blu Ray Fare Thee Well box set will be available on the Dead’s website.
