In a recent interview with KHOL radio station before a performance in Jackson Hole, WY, North Mississippi Allstars guitarist Luther Dickinson revealed that bassist Chris Chew is no longer playing with the band, and Ron Johnson is now the Allstars’ bassist.

Dickinson was on the radio show with fellow guitarist Anders Osborne, who plays with him in North Mississippi Osborne. The two played through a song before talking a bit with the host, who asked Dickinson about his plans with NMA and if Chew would be involved. Dickinson responded by saying the bassist left the band about three years ago, although Chew has played with them in The Word and on select other occasions. The Allstars have also toured as a duo and with Lightnin’ Malcolm during the past few years.

Ron Johnson (whom Osborne complements by calling him a “baaad boy” in the interview) has played with Warren Haynes and Gregg Allman in the past. Listen to the performance and interview below.
