Last night at Bob Weir’s Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, the Grateful Dead guitarist came onstage to sit in with Hard Working Americans for a few tunes.

Weir joined HWA for two classics, “Wang Dang Doodle” and “Blackland Farmer,” with the latter moving into a cover of the Dead’s “Speedway Boogie.” Weir also played on a run of HWA’s cover of Hayes Carll’s “Stomp and Holler.”

Hard Working Americans formed in 2013 as a supergroup consisting of Todd Snider, Widespread Panic’s Dave Schools, Chris Robinson Brotherhood’s Neal Casal, Great American Taxi’s Chad Staehly and drummer Duane Trucks.
