Radiohead have released a free song on Soundcloud in time for Christmas. Earlier today the group dropped the rejected theme song they wrote for the new James Bond film Spectre without any advance warning. The film’s producers ultimately decided to go with Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall” for the movie’s theme.

“Last year we were asked to write a theme tune for the Bond movie Spectre ,” Radiohead frontman Thom Yorke revealed in a tweet. “Yes we were. It didn’t work out, but became something of our own, which we love very much. As the year closes we thought you might like to hear it. Merry Christmas. May the force be with you.”

Radiohead have not released a proper full-length album since 2011’s The King of Limbs. The group—who are rumored to tour in 2016—has been working on their next studio project for over a year. In an interview with Relix, drummer Philip Selway said he was aiming to bring the spirit of his second solo album Weatherhouse to the sessions.
