Real Estate’s Martin Courtney was at San Francisco’s The Chapel last night as part of his first solo tour in support of his album Many Moons.

As with his recent shows, Courtney’s band included Woods’ Jarvis Taveniere and Aaron Neveu and Doug Keith of Sharon Van Etten’s band. Matt Kivel opened the night, and Real Estate bassist Alex Bleeker, who recently moved to Marin right outside San Francisco, DJed during the night.

Courtney has been nodding to his album’s title by playing moon-themed songs as his encores, and last night, Kivel returned to the stage to join the band for David Bowie’s “Moonage Daydream” and Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon,” while Bleeker emerged to join his bandmate for Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising.”
