Carlos Santana has announced that his classic Santana band lineup has reunited for an album called Santana IV, which will follow up, in name and spirit, the band’s run of Santana, Abraxas and Santana III from 1969–1971.

As Vintage Vinyl News reports, the record will feature the legendary guitarist rejoining the lineup of keyboardist Gregg Rolie, guitarist Neal Schon, percussionist Michael Carabello and drummer Michael Shrieve. The album is expected to be released on April 15. View the album art below.

“When you can go back and break new ground with joy and determination–and some whoop-ass energy–it gets you going,” Santana says. “I think we achieved something very rare. This music was screaming to come out of us. It wasn’t about nostalgia. It was about passion.”
