Jesse Jarnow, writer and longtime contributing editor for Relix, will release his new book, Heads: A Biography of Psychedelic America, next week, and the author will hold three book reading events in New York state to celebrate the release.

Jarnow will appear at Woodstock, NY’s The Golden Notebook on April 2, at Brooklyn’s WORD Bookstore on April 4 and at Book Revue in Huntington, NY, on April 7, with more dates to be announced via the Heads News Twitter account.

According to a press release, Jarnow’s book “uncovers the secret entwined history of Deadheads, psychedelics, and the counterculture over the past half-century using interlocking nonfiction narratives about radical chemists, graffiti artists, concert tapers, LSD dealers, festival goers, internet pioneers, commune dwellers, and more.”

Jarnow, who is also the author of Big Day Coming: Yo La Tengo and the Rise of Indie Rock, will contribute a feature to the April-May issue of Relix documenting his research process for Heads.
