This past weekend at New Orleans’ Jazz Fest, Warren Haynes led an all-star group of musicians in a two-night celebration of The Band’s legendary San Francisco farewell concert immortalized in Martin Scorcese’s The Last Waltz, as the iconic show celebrates its 40th anniversary this year.

As JamBase reports, Haynes was joined at NOLA’s Saenger Theatre by producer and multi-instrumentalist Don Was, keyboardist John Medeski, bassist George Porter Jr., Jamey Johnson, The Radiators’ Dave Malone, drummer Terrence Higgins and Bonerama’s Mark Mullins, plus guests like Lukas Nelson, Cyril and Ivan Neville and more.

The two nights at the Saenger featured classic tunes like “Up On Cripple Creek,” “Shape I’m In,” “Ophelia,” “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down,” “Rag Mama Rag,” “Life Is A Carnival,” “Caravan,” The Weight” and “I Shall Be Released,” among others.
