This past weekend at DelFest, Yonder Mountain String Band peppered their two sets with covers, originals and several sit ins from the Travelin’ McCourys and more.

To kick off their DelFest appearance, Yonder played a Thursday set that featured Ronnie McCoury, son of the festival’s namesake, and his Travelin’ McCourys bandmate Jason Carter for “Traffic Jam” that led into a “New Dusty Miller” interlude.

The following evening, the band brought out fiddler Brittney Haas and mandolinist Sierra Hull for “Pass This Way” and “EMD,” while McCoury returned to the stage for the set-closing run of “Summer in the City,” “Kentucky Mandolin” and “Casualty.” Travelin’ McCourys bassist Alan Bartram also joined in for “Kentucky Mandolin.”

Next up for Yonder Mountain is a trip to Telluride Bluegrass Festival starting June 16.
