Rolling Stones’ Chuck Leavell will team up with David Gilmour this year as a part of the Pink Floyd guitarist’s band. Leavell will begin his stint in Gilmour’s band on June 25 in Wroclaw and stretch all the way into July with the final gigs in Tienen. Leavell was also a member of The Allman Brothers Band during their ’70s commercial peak and has toured with John Mayer.

In a note on his website, Leavell recounted his time with Gilmour. “My first contact with David was back in 1984 when I was the Musical Director of a show broadcast on MTV called “Guitar Greats”. David was a part of that, and he was amazing.”

He added, “To have him reach out to me now is truly an honor, and I can’t wait to start work with him and the band.”
