During last night’s Republican National Convention, Ivanka Trump used George Harrison’s classic “Here Comes the Sun” as background music during her speech to introduce the Republican nominee for President, Donald Trump.
Today, the George Harrison Estate responded on Twitter with a pair of statements criticizing the choice, calling it “offensive” and “against the wishes of the George Harrison Estate.”
A second tweet added, “If it had been ‘Beware of Darkness’ then we may have approved it.”
Following Donald Trump’s speech, he also piped in the Rolling Stones’ “You Can’t Always Get What You Want” despite the band having already issued a cease and desist to Trump back in May.
The unauthorized use of #HereComestheSun at the #RNCinCLE is offensive & against the wishes of the George Harrison estate.
