Last month, Justin Schnurr, Texas music promoter and an avid member of the jamband community, passed away at the age of 35. Schnurr founded the production company Havin’ a Ball Productions, which brings many artists to Houston and the surrounding areas and puts on Austin’s Euphoria Festival.

Schnurr was very active in the Widespread Panic fan community, also working with Hard Working Americans, and Panic frontman John Bell took a moment before their Fox Theater concert in Oakland, CA, the day after Scnurr’s passing to honor his memory before kicking off the concert with “Heroes.”

Schnurr was a much-loved and well-remembered force in the Texas music community, as his obituary in the Houston Chronicle reads:

Justin lit up so many of our lives. He was the best of all of us and his passion for music influenced us all. “Without music life would be a mistake.” Justin, you are and will always be the best song that will never fade away.

May you rest in peace and may the music never stop.

RIP Justin Howard Schnurr, 1981-2016
