After collaborating on opening night in Portland and the other night in Asbury Park, NJ Gov’t Mule and Blackberry Smoke once again came together for a cover-filled encore last night at Boston’s Blue Hills Bank Pavilion.

In the encore, it was Charlie Starr, Paul Jackson, Richard Turner and Brandon Still who emerged to join Mule (as Turner replaced Jorgen Carlsson) on a cover of Neil Young’s “Southern Man” before a take on Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” to close the show.

Mule will play tonight at the Peach Festival before resuming their tour with Blackberry Smoke on August 16 in Utica, NY.
