Denver, CO’s Edison have premiered their debut album, which came out last week and is now streaming over at Curve. The trio is fronted by Sarah Slaton, who shared her coming out story with the magazine along with her band’s record.

“Homophobia was deeply rooted in us and something I knew to be scared of before my first real crush,” Slaton remembers. After feeling attraction toward a another girl, she says she “spent the following years trying to ‘pray’ that feeling out of me, and never said a word to anyone. But it never went away.” Slaton also shares the difficulty of coming out in college and facing her roommates’ issues with that.
