With the news that Phish is returning to Madison Square Garden for New Year’s, a slew of bands will also descend on New York City that week for a series of pre and aftershows around the city.

Among the initial announcement, a December 28 late night tribute to Amy Winehouse at The Cutting Room led by Elise Testone and including special guests to be announced at a later date. On December 29, Dead Sessions will bring the music of the Grateful Dead to nearby American Beauty for a show that will serve as both a pre and post show beginning at 4 PM and midnight respectively.

As the new year approaches, Marcus King Band will play The Cutting Room on December 30 beginning at midnight and the New Year’s Eve finale will be highlighted by a pre-show from Holly Bowling at Cutting Room and a post-show appearance at Irving Plaza from Snarky Puppy, beginning at 2 AM.
