An all-star cast of musicians will come together later this month at Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, for a benefit in support of poet, political activist and lyricist for Bob Weir and the Grateful Dead John Perry Barlow, who has suffered through multiple medical issues throughout the past year and a half, including surviving a heart attack in late May of last year.

Participating in the event will be Weir, Les Claypool, Jerry Harrison, Lukas Nelson, members of The String Cheese Incident (to whom Barlow has also contributed songs), Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, Sean Lennon and more special guests. The night will also feature both a live and silent auction.

Barlow’s contribution to the Dead canon includes songs like “Mexicali Blues,” “Cassidy,” “Estimated Prophet,” “The Music Never Stopped,” “Hell in a Bucket” and “Throwing Stones,” among others. He also worked with Grateful Dead keyboardists Brent Mydland and Vince Welnick.

All proceeds from the Sweetwater benefit will go to Barlow’s medical fund. Donations are also being accepted here.
