Umphrey’s McGee returned to The Pageant in St. Louis for the first time in three years, bringing their Halloween run back to the venue for the first time since 2010.

Among the highlights, early opening jams in tunes like “Hurt Bird Bath” and “Miami Virtue” as well as the Mantis cut “Red Tape” and a closing combo of the slick “Comma Later” with the metal-tinged “The Floor.”

The centerpiece of the show came in the second set, as the band worked in “Breaker,” a cut from their Raw Stewage quarter from this past edition of UMBowl. The tune encompasses the January 28, 2015 jam from “All in Time” played in Oxford, MS and hasn’t been played since it originally debuted in Las Vegas.

Umphrey’s rounded out the standout set with extended takes on “Der Bluten Kat” as well as “Wappy Sprayberry” to complement the rare “Crooked One” as well as the closing pairing of “August” and another Raw Stewage cut, “Den.” The band returned for an encore of “The Linear” and The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.”

Umphrey’s hits the stage at The Pageant once again tonight.
