On November 12, Brooklyn-based outfit Sister Sparrow & The Dirty Birds will play a homecoming show at New York’s Irving Plaza, and the band has announced that the gig will mark the last with guitarist Sasha Brown as a member.

“It’s been an incredible journey since August 2008, when I first walked into a room and encountered Sister Sparrow and her music” Brown says in a statement released by the band. “I reached a point where the desire to pursue other musical avenues and lead my own endeavors grew too strong to put aside any longer. I’m thankful that the band has accepted my wishes graciously, as lifelong friends who fully support each other in our respective future endeavors.”

Brown goes on to thank the band’s fans, saying, “It’s truly humbling to stand on the stage before folks getting down, singing along, and throwing their hands up in the air as we do our thing. I look forward to what the future holds, and have a lot of music in the pipeline I’m eager to get out there.”

Sister Sparrow and company will also play Washington, DC’s Hamilton on November 10 and Philadelphia’s Underground Arts on November 11. Tickets for the tour-closing Irving Plaza show are available here.
