Jim James recently participated in a Reddit AMA in support of his new solo effort, Eternally Even, and the My Morning Jacket frontman discussed the supergroup he started in 2009 with Conor Oberst, M. Ward and Mike Mogis, saying that the collective have recorded music for a possible MOF film.

As Consequence of Sound reports, James revealed that Oberst had written a screenplay for the film, and the band got together “a few years ago” to record some music for it. “We hope both happen someday, cuz we wanna write music for the film, but it’s tough to get a weird film made these days! Maybe someday!” James wrote.

The members of Monsters of Folk, who have each kept busy since their first and only album in 2009 with their own projects, had a couple of informal reunions this year, as Ward welcomed both Oberst and James at the Hollywood Bowl in July, and Oberst returned the favor, inviting Ward and James onstage during his Hardly Strictly Bluegrass set.
