This afternoon, an artist set to play Austin’s South By Southwest festival, Felix Walworth of Told Slant, posted a portion of the festival’s contract that outlines possible repercussions for bands that play unofficial shows during the event, which runs March 13–19, including “immediate deportation” for international artists.

As A.V. Club reports, Walworth tweeted a photo of a portion of his band’s SXSW contract, which forbids artists from playing non-festival-sanctioned showcases or shows, which are common occurrences during the week-long event. Penalties listed include revoking the artist’s credentials, removing them from any official showcases and canceling their hotel, if sponsored by the festival. There is also a warning that the festival can “notify the appropriate U.S. immigration authorities” of the infractions, which may result in “immediate deportation,” “revoked passport” and “denied entry by US Customs.”

In his tweet, which can be seen below, Walworth captions the photo, “After looking through this contract sent to me by sxsw I have decided to cancel Told Slant’s performance at the festival.” The musician sent a follow-up tweet, writing, “Can our first step toward coalition as artists with radical politics be to cancel all our official showcases at sxsw? I’m serious just do it.”
