Last night, Chris Robinson brought his new project Green Leaf Rustlers through Sweetwater Music Hall in Mill Valley, CA, and the band welcomed venue proprietor Bob Weir to the stage for a batch of songs in the first set.

As JamBase report, the Grateful Dead guitarist joined Robinson and company for four covers to close out the first set, starting with Merle Haggard’s “Mama Tried” and continuing with Bobby Womack’s “It’s All Over Now,” Bob Dylan’s “When I Paint My Masterpiece” and George Jones’ “The Race is On.”

Green Leaf Rustlers delivered a slew of covers throughout the night, including more Dylan and Jones cuts, plus tunes from the Eagles, New Riders of the Purple Sage, The Everly Brothers, Townes Van Zandt and more. The band also stuck Dead staple “Bertha” on the end of the second set.
